Westgate Oxford Cycle Hub - Terms & Conditions of Membership
1. Summary of Membership
Membership provides access to cycle parking to The Cycle Hub, The Westgate, Queen Street, Oxford, OX1 1PG.
1.2 Membership is free of charge for cycle parking in the Hub. The annual membership must be renewed. Registration and membership including renewal is obtained via the Guest Experience Pod on the Upper Ground floor, next to Goldsmiths.
1.3 A membership card will be provided and strictly one card will be issued per person. The card will be issued by staff at Westgate Oxford following registration and membership.
2. Registration
2.1 To register as a member you must:

2.3 Ensure that all information provided in the registration process is accurate.
2.4 Agree to these terms and conditions.
2.5 Westgate Oxford reserves the right to refuse membership.
3. Operation of Membership
3.1 Admission to the Westgate Cycle Hub is strictly limited to members holding a current and valid membership card.
3.2 Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions or misuse of the Cycle Hub may result in membership being terminated without any refund being given.
3.3 Membership will expire at the end of the term unless membership is renewed.
3.4 In the event of membership expiry or cancellation and if a bicycle remains within the Cycle Hub the bicycle will be removed 14 days after membership expiry. After a period of 2 months it will be donated to a local charity.
4. Access to Cycle Hub
4.1 The membership card will also act as the access card to the Cycle Hub’s electronic entry system.
4.2 The card must be used to gain access to the Cycle Hub or presented when requested by any authorised official of Westgate Oxford. Members are entitled to ask Westgate Oxford staff for identification.
4.3 The membership card will not be valid if damaged or defaced in any way. A replacement card must be requested by the member and may be subject to a charge. In the event a membership card is damaged through reasonable wear and tear Westgate Oxford reserves the right to waive the replacement fee at its sole discretion.
4.4 The membership card shall be non-transferable and use of the card shall be restricted to the registered member only. Misuse of the card could result in membership termination.
4.5 Members must notify Westgate Oxford on 01865 263 600 between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday providing any change of details.
5. Cancellation of Membership
5.1 Members wishing to cancel membership should contact Westgate Oxford on 01865 263 600 between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.
5.2 One-month notice is required to cancel membership.
5.3 Membership cards must be returned to the Guest Experience Desk, The Westgate, Queen Street, Oxford, OX1 1PG. This is located next to Goldsmith’s Jewellers.
6. Cycle Hub Operating Hours
6.1 Access to the Cycle Hub is from 7am to 11pm every day of the year. Westgate Oxford reserves the right to vary the hours of operation at any time. Any changes will be advertised in advance at the Cycle Hub and on www.westgateoxford.co.uk.
6.2 In the event of a disruption including but not limited to those caused by construction equipment malfunction, damage, social disorder or force majeure event at or around the Cycle Hub temporary closure of the Cycle Hub may be required on occasion.
6.3 Westgate Oxford accepts no liability for journey delays, inconvenience, loss of income or additional expense incurred by members arising from the temporary closure of the Cycle Hub.
6.4 Westgate Oxford will publish the opening hours of the Cycle Hub including any general information relating to the Cycle Hub at www.westgateoxford.co.uk.
7. Using the Cycle Hub
7.1 Cycle parking facilities shall be available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Membership does not guarantee the availability of a cycle parking space within the Cycle Hub.
7.2 The Cycle Hub provides parking for standard pedal cycles only.
7.3 The Cycle Hub is for storage of bicycles and cycle related items (such as helmets and bike lights) only. Members must ensure that any cycle related items are safely secured and do not impede other members.
7.4 Members are not permitted to store items other than mentioned in 7.3. The Cycle Hub floor and communal walkway must be kept clear. Any items left unattended shall be removed. It shall be the members’ responsibility to contact Westgate within one month, after which time such items shall be disposed of.
7.5 Smoking is not permitted within the Cycle Hub.
7.6 Cycle locks are not provided and must be supplied by the member.
7.7 Misuse of the Cycle Hub may result in membership being terminated without refund. Terms of misuse are at the discretion of Westgate Oxford.
8. Members Obligations
8.1 Members shall be responsible for:

8.2 Properly securing the bicycle to a cycle rack using an appropriate lock to be supplied by the member.
8.3 Safe and correct use of the cycle parking racks.
8.4 Ensuring that no damage, defacing or vandalism is caused to the Cycle Hub or any of the equipment or property in any way.
9. Safety and Security
9.1 The Cycle Hub is used entirely at members’ own risk. Westgate Oxford does not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons or equipment, howsoever arising.
9.2 While the Cycle Hub is a secure cycle parking facility, members are advised that for public safety, in the event of a power or mechanical failure the automatic doors are set to a default open position until repairs can be carried out.
9.3 Westgate Oxford recommends the use of a secure lock.
9.4 Members are responsible for ensuring an appropriate level of insurance cover for their property, including the bicycle. It is recommended that members register bicycles on the UK National Property Register; the national police database of registered property ownership and stolen property records.
9.5 The Cycle Hub is monitored 24 hours per day by CCTV cameras operated by Westgate Oxford for the purposes of safety and security. Further details can be obtained from the Guest Experience Desk on 01865 263 600 between the hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
9.6 Note that Westgate Oxford intends to take part in future initiatives such as cycle training, repairs and the promotion of cycling in Oxford. Notices will be displayed on a noticeboard in the Cycle Hub with additional information on www.westgateoxford.co.uk.
